I haven’t the best eco-friendly person in this world. And honestly my plastic awakening was because of the documentary “Seaspiricy”. It was quiet confronting and made me feel so devastating thinking of my own contribution to sea pollution. I educated myself going through documents, research and came across many, I say many, hard hitting to heart truth.
Over one billion plastic water bottles are purchased in Australia each year. These are all single use. They mostly end up in the oceans, and with the marine life. You do the math.
The recent pandemic kept us within the walls of our homes. With humans at a standstill, it was a blessing in disguise for it improved the quality of our air. But locked within those walls, we found more time to indulge and make more waste bound to the seas. Where one human doing on nature was stamped on by the pandemic, the other human damage surfaced and conveniently took its place. Sea pollution is a significant problem. A plastic bottle discarded after a single human use poses a permanent source of torment for marine life and their home, the oceans.
I know this all is hard to digest, TRUST ME. We can start small and be mindful of how we are contributing to single use waste in our environment. It came to my knowledge; plastic industry is planning to increase their production by 40% in the next 10 years. Don’t they know, plastic not only effects marine life and the ocean, but it also has harmful effects on humans. To live plastic free, you will be trading your single plastic use to YOUR health and your children’s health and our planet’s health.
I am an ocean lover; it brings joy and calmness to many. Through inspiration drawn from it, we designed a beautiful frosted glass bottle that will be stylish and help you in joining hands with us in eliminating the single use plastic from our country and world. We can be the CHANGE.
